Add This To My To-Buy List: DVF's Hathaway dress

There's nothing like a great frock to make getting dressed an event all its own. This DVF number is sassy and bright, has a flirty bubble skirt and comes with a contrasting black and white sash. (Belts are huge this season and this sash delivers a nice focus on the waist in keeping with the trend.) Perfect for afternoon cocktails, a hip bridal shower or other such festive occasion. Add a smart black and white bracelet cuff and you're out the door in a flash.

In My Bag: White Eyelet Top

For some reason it seems that everyone I know is on vacation or a spring break of sorts this week, while I've been hard at work. A little retail therapy was in order to make myself feel better so I scored the last BCBG white eyelet top at Macy's the other day. I am in love with it -- it's silk charmeuse, so it's got a lovely sheen to it and totally worth the $178.

Lust List: Giles Deacon dress

If you can get through this month's huge Tom Ford special edition of Vanity Fair and get past all of the half-dressed actors and actresses, you'll find one of the most divine dresses I've seen in a long time. I hope to have an event worthy of wearing a dress such as this in the near future. In the meantime, I'll simply lust for it.

Look what I found online: Preppy Potato

Since we've got lovely new spring earrings to share with you, I thought I'd try to find some complimentary additions. Enter: the Preppy Potato. Check out their lime green sash with tortoise shell buckle. It's the perfect companion to our pink mother of pearl coin earrings.

Does life get any preppier than lime green paired with pink? I think not. As Jen, Preppy Potato's designer, says, "Preppiness is never out of style." Something both "Jens" agree on!

Get Inspired: Kimono Dresses

While "Memoirs of A Geisha" wasn't exactly the blockbuster hit that Hollywood (and countless trend forecasters, no doubt) had hoped for, there were definitely some inspiring kimonos that got designers excited last year when designing their spring collections. Without looking like an actual kimono, subtle cues like the thick banded necklines, 3/4 sleeves and draping techniques found there way into some beautiful dresses worth picking up. It's a moder, fashion-forward interpretation of a tried-and-true kimono silhouette.

I'm loving this short Milly dress with a pair of wedges. Looks great over a pair of jeans, too, if you're into the layered look. The Milly dress is $295 at Neiman Marcus.

Road Tested: Bliss Fabulous Foaming Face Wash

My skin has been uncommonly dry this winter but I hate soaping up with creamy cleansers, slathering on heavy moisturizers and feeling greasy in general. Bliss' Fabulous Foaming Face Wash has been the perfect solution -- it gently exfoliates without stripping my face clean of any remaining moisture. It's a thin blue liquid with tiny scrubbing beads and produces a very light lather. Bonus: at $18 this one bottle has lasted me a super long time. Extra bonus: it smells pretty and fruity without being overbearing. (Thank goodness, because who needs to be bowled over by a heady scent first thing in the morning?!?!?!)

Has anyone tried...

... Lancome's new perfume Hypnose? Hmmm, my favorite mascara now transformed into a perfume of vanilla and passion flower notes. I am going to get a sample but would love to hear if anyone has already tried it!

In My Bag: Cool Belts

Nothing updates a wardrobe like smart accessories. In addition to sporting new jewelry (today I'm wearing one of the Jennifer Grove signature lariats) I think belts are a great way to go. I just picked up JCrew's $28 braided rope belt (the salesperson was taking it out of the box when I spotted it and grabbed it -- it didn't even make it to the salesfloor -- and I proceeded to buy it and wear it out of the store looped through my cropped jeans (see below). The other one I scooped up is this $52 black leather belt from Banana Republic which I guarantee I will wear through the summer over dresses, jeans, etc.

Poll: What eye shadow are you wearing right now?

I'm feeling rather fancy in my frothy, minty shadows from Chanel, a gift from my sister. She chose to get me the River Light pair -- it's a shimmery celadon paired with a shimmery aqua-ish seafoam green. Chanel Irreelle Duo in River Light, $38.50 available in stores or from Gloss.com. Very flattering shades and, of course, I always love the deluxe signature details like the quilting, solid black compact with mirror and velvet pouch.

What's on your lids?

Found! The perfect black wedge...

I'm on a mission to have the world's largest collection of wedges this Spring and this pair from Sergio Rossi will make a fine addition, no doubt. They've got the right height and just enough of a touch of patent leather to make them shiny standouts. On trend without being trendy -- I love it!

Add This To My To Buy List: 1 item from Luella Bartley's Target collection

I will admit, most of the items I've seen so far from the Luella Bartley collection produced for Target are pretty scary looking to me. They are just so '80s that only pre-teens will be able to pull them off. Black mini skirts with neon trimmed ruffles, tartan plaid strapless prom-like dresses, etc. may offer a pop of spunk to any spring wardrobe, but inexpensive fabrics and poor construction just won't fly on anyone over 14 without looking cheap.

However, I did spot one dress that I think would be a fun $29 investment, even if I only wore it once. The shirt dress, seen here as photographed in this month's Shop Etc, could be tres cute, yes? Now only if my Target carried it (which of course, they probably won't, for some reason) or it was available online (which of course, it currently isn't, for some reason).

Add This To My To Buy List: Braided Strap Wedges

LOVE these shoes -- I'm going to be very big into wedges this upcoming season and these will make a nice addition to my burgeoning collection. The braided rope straps add a nautical flair without being too "sailor-y" and the toffee/medium shade of brown works with all of the new dresses I'm stocking my closet with, too.
Kors by Michael Kors, $190.
